Hubert John Ramaker, age 94, passed away Mar. 18, 2018 at Pine Villa Memory Care in Prairie du Sac. He was born Apr. 7, 1923 to the late Lawrence and Bernadine (Debbink) Ramaker. Hubert graduated from Oostburg High School near Sheboygan; class of 1941. He was united in marriage to Pearl Selje on Oct. 20, 1942; she preceded him in death on Sept. 13, 2003. Hubert entered the U.S. Army and served during WWII in the European Theatre. While in the service he was a awarded a Bronze Star and obtained the rank of First Lieutenant when he discharged in 1945. Hubert was a member of the Steamfitters Local 601 Union for over 35 years retiring in 1985. He and Pearl enjoyed golfing at Lake Wisconsin County Club and wintering in Apalachicola, FL. Hubert will be remembered for his stained glass work and his wry sense of humor and ability to always have a comeback.

He is survived by his children, Kathryn (Larry) Ellefson of Fairmont, N.C., Donna (Jim) Kirner of Prairie du Sac, Carole (friend, Larry Moston) Lukens of Prairie du Sac, Gail (Bruce) Harms of Madison, Nancy (William) Young of Nekoosa, and Michael (Stacy) Ramaker of Roxbury; 12 grandchildren, Stein, Leif, Brett, Shawna, Travis, Lindsay, Alyssa, Jodi, Jason, Matthew, Morgan, and Erica; 9 great grandchildren; special niece, Sandy Weggel; and friend, David Lukens. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, Pearl, he was preceded in death by 4 siblings, Allen Ramaker, Edith Jagerink, June Shinker, and Doris DeBlaey.

A private family service will be held with Military Honors accorded by Lachmund-Cramer VFW Post 7694. Interment will be held in the Prairie du Sac Cemetery.

Hubert's family would like to acknowledge the exceptional care provided by Agrace Hospice and the Pines Assisted Living Staff, especially Deb and Amanda.
