Ida Nelson, age 78, died on Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. She was born in Romania on January 11, 1930. She was united in marriage to Gilbert Nelson on March 18, 1964 in Germany. The couple settled in the Sauk City area in 1975. Ida enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Luher of Sauk City 4 grandchildren. Sarah, Abigail, Rachel and Annabelle, 3 sisters, Barbara McDonald of New York, Marie Vaughn of Charleston, SC, and Erna Reinhardt of Germany, daughter-in-law, Vera Winter of Germany, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by, her husband,; 2 sons, Steven and Richard; a sister, Ella Schwartz. Funeral services will be held at SAUK PRAIRIE EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH, Prairie du Sac, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2008. Burial will be in the Sauk City Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday, one hour prior to the service.
