Jackie J. Peterson, age 84, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 with his loving family at his side. He was born in Arena on October 1, 1926, the son of the late John and Mabel (Hottmann) Peterson. He was united in marriage to Yetta Brunner on January 17, 1950. The couple were lifetime farmers in Arena Township.


He is survived by his wife, Yetta; three children, Sandra, Barbara Schmidt and William (Wendy) Peterson; three grandchildren, Kari (Derrik) Harrison, T.J. Peterson and Tyler Peterson; three great-grandchildren, Lexi, Brayden and Riley; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, James and Timothy; and eight siblings, Marie Swenson, Gladys Abdoo, Doris Miller, Norman, Russell, Kenneth, Tommy and Curt Peterson.


A funeral service will be held at NEW HEIGHTS LUTHERAN CHURCH, Mazomanie, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 8, 2011 with Pastor Rob Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the Arena Cemetery. Friends may call at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, 702 Emily Rd., Mazomanie, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, 2011.
