Obituary

James A. "Jim" Breunig, age 67, died on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee. He was born in Roxbury on July 2, 1941, the son of the late Gilbert and Ruth (Zimmel) Breunig. He graduated from Sauk City High School in 1959 and then entered the U.S. Air Force, where he served until 1963, being stationed in Madrid Spain. Jim graduated from UW Platteville in 1968 and was united in marriage to Phyllis Ballweg on May 11, 1968. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Jim enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially his four grandchildren. He was very proud of them and took every opportunity to let people know. Jim took great pride in his job at Fuch's Trucking where he worked for over 40 years. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting with his family, golfing with friends, and spending hours in the woods. He was also known to enjoy a cigar on occasion. Jim was passionate about his collection of antique John Deere tractors, and was especially proud of his 1938 unstyled 'G'. Jim felt it was important to remain physically fit and spent hours in the gym and walking in the community. Jim led his life with a strong faith in God, an intense work ethic, and a dedication to friends and family. He was a person people felt comfortable around and enjoyed being with. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and came in contact with him over the last 67 years. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Sauk City; three children, Greg (Jenney) of Roxbury; Darren (Jody) of Sauk City; and Andrea (Ryan) Campbell of California; four grandchildren, Ben, Zach, Kate and Riley Breunig; two brothers, Tom (Donna) of Prairie du Sac and Jack (Bev) of Roxbury; two sisters, Ann (Jack) Haselwander of Sauk City and Janet (Vince) Ballweg of Sauk City; other relatives and many friends.
