James ""Pat" Crapser, age 71, died Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at HospiceCare, Inc. in Madison, after a brief and courageous battle with ALS. He was born in Richland Center on March 18, 1939, the son of Clifford and Alice (Fogo) Crapser. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served from 1958 - 1961. He was united in marriage to Cathy Ballweg on May 25, 1963 at St. Norbert's Catholic Church in Roxbury. Pat was employed as a cement finisher for many years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and loved being outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy of Prairie du Sac; 4 daughters, Kim (Marty) Wood, Debbie (Rob) Schiffman, Renee (Todd) Wilkinson and Tammy (Justin) Johnson, all of the Sauk Prairie area; 9 grandchildren, Jacob, Jordan and Jenelle Wood; Shelby and Tim Schiffman; Trevor, Max and Olivia Wilkinson; and Allison Johnson; his mother, Alice Bolton; 4 sisters, Marilyn (Vic) Pape of Kentucky, Judy (Bob) Boehmer of Sauk City, Connie (Ron) Alt of North Carolina and Cathy (Dean) Salveson of Sauk City; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, October 18, 2010 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Sauk City, with Fr. Jared Hood officiating. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at Hooverson Funeral Home, Sauk City.
