James Frederick Kendall, age 74, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Sauk City on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2023. He was born Mar. 4, 1949 to Lewis W. and Fern B. (Sloggy) Kendall Sr. James attended and graduated from Sauk Prairie High School in 1967 where he enjoyed playing football. Following high school he worked for Alkar in Lodi with some of his siblings. He later went on to work as a welder and fabricator of dairy equipment in Madison and at the Middleton Farmers Cooperative where he retired from. James was united in marriage to Suzanne "Sue" Schwedrsky on October 10, 1998; she preceded him in death on July 16, 2013. Together they enjoyed trips up north and camping. He enjoyed dining out, going for a drive in the country, the outdoors, wildlife and hunting; he would often be watching hunting tv programs. Family events and holidays were the most fun; he would dress as Santa for Christmas and was affectionately known by many as Jimmy, and he always made sure to bring the meat for his family to enjoy together.
James in survived by his daughter, Karly (Brian) Fitzgerald; siblings, Char (Joe Watts) Gorst, twin brothers, Roger and Ralph Kendall, Bev (John "Bog") Heitman, Rhonda (Bernie) Stoltenberg; special friend, Mary Hrejsa. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sue; son, Jeff; mother in-law, Norma Ludwig; siblings, Margaret Ann Kendall, Lewis W. Kendall Jr., and Sharon Rose Decorah.
A visitation for James will be held on Friday, Oct. 27, 2023 starting at 2:00 pm where memories will briefly be shared at 4:00 pm at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City.
James' family would like to express their sincerest thanks to the healthcare professionals who helped care for him in his last months.
