James "Jim" "Murphy" Langsdorf, age 76, passed away at St Mary's in Madison on Monday, January 5, 2026.
He was born on November 8, 1949, to the late Merlyn and Marion (Kennedy) Langsdorf. He attended school in Doylestown through 8th grade and graduated from Rio High School in 1968. Jim was drafted to the Army during Vietnam. He stayed state side and served as a clerk typist.
Jim was united in marriage to Laura Kuehl on July 21, 1990, at Junge Park in Sauk City. They lived most of their married life in Sun Prairie. For many years he was an over the road truckdriver. He changed careers and went back to school and earned a bachelor's degree in finance and went to work for the State of Wisconsin. He enjoyed Badgers and Packers football. Jim enjoyed traveling and camping. Two of his favorite trips were to Ireland and New Orleans.
Jim is survived by his wife of 35 years, Laura. Further survived by siblings, Jack (Linda), Gene, Joe (Charlene) and Annie Langsdorf. Also survived by Nancy (Rick) Lockwood and Brad (Andy Cook) Kuehl. Nieces and nephews along with great nephews and niece. Along with other relatives and friends.
Donations can be made to American Heart Assoc or Dane County or Columbia County Humane Societies.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Hooverson Funeral Home 251 Water Street, Sauk City WI. Visitation will start at 10:00, with the service following at 11:00.
