James "Jim" R. Peterson, age 63, passed away on Tues. Nov. 29, 2016 at Heartland Country Village in Black Earth. He was born July 13, 1953 to the late Russell and Ramona (Demby) Peterson. Jim was a graduate of River Valley High School; class on 1971. He was a former equipment operator for Gabe's and member of the Laborers Union; and later worked for Amble Landscaping and Niesen and Son's Landscaping from which he retired after a 30 year career. Jim cheered on the Packers, enjoyed watching sports, playing cards and spending time with his family.

He is survived by a son, Quinn (Natasha) Peterson and their son, Levi; his siblings, Mary (Greg) Sawle, Ruthann (Stephan) Larson, Joe (Toni Morrow) Peterson, Rosie Peterson, and Jeff (Lorri) Peterson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Peterson; and Helen Knight, who helped raise Jim from an early age.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Fri. Dec. 2, 2016 at Hooverson Funeral Home, Hwy 14 West, Mazomanie. A visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of service. Interment will follow in the Arena Cemetery. A luncheon will follow.
