Obituary

James "Lyle" Schultz, 83, went home to be with his lord and his loved ones, whom he had been longing to see on the early morning hour of Thursday, October 11, 2012. He was born in Mazomanie, December 30, 1928 to the late Otto and Olive (Hawley) Schultz. Lyle was very dedicated and proud of his 33 year career at the Dane County Highway Department, as well as his passion for farming, with the love of his life, Donna, and his 5 children. He was an avid sportsman and looked forward to daily rides in the country.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Donna (Barsness) Schultz.

His 5 children, James (Kate Blashaski), Joey, Joel, Julie, and Jonathan (Shelia), 19 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.

A brother Jack (Ila) Schultz, sister in-law Lurlene Schultz, and brothers in-law Bob Sutcliffe, Ernest (Darlene) Kahl, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Ralph and Hazel Barsness, 2 infant children, 2 sisters, Carol Kahl and Betty Sutcliffe, and a brother Eugene Schultz.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 11:00am at VERMONT LUTHERAN CHURCH, 9886 Vermont Church Rd., Vermont Township. No visitation will be held. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
