Obituary

James "Jim" T. Cramer, age 71, of Sauk City passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Apr. 21, 2024, following a family weekend up north.  He was born in Baraboo on Aug. 20, 1952 to the late Kenneth "Barney" and Lucille (Huerth) Cramer. He attended Sauk Prairie Schools and UW LaCrosse.  Jim was united in marriage to Debbie Ballweg on Aug. 30, 1975 at St. Norbert's Church in Roxbury.

Jim worked for Badger Swimpools; working on plumbing, piping setups, installs and maintenance of all pools.  He retired in 2018 after over 43 years of service.  Retirement meant he could work on projects around home, or lend a helping hand around his children's homes. He was often tinkering, cobbling and "Jimmy rigging" his latest home project or repair. Often, these projects were approved only by Jimmy. He loved his time spent outdoors, his pine trees, and in his earlier years was an avid skier, hunter and fisherman.  Most recently he was enjoying his new smartphone and newly discovered social media.  His love of animals will never be forgotten; over the years he had a soft spot for welcoming pets to his family.  He faithfully attended all of his children's sporting events, which continued with his Grandchildren. He lived his life to the fullest, "on Jimmy's terms." Most of all he enjoyed time spent with his family. Anyone who knew Jimmy, also known as "Guido," will never forget his unique sense of humor and the laughter he brought into this world.

Jim is survived by his wife, Debbie, his four children, Courtney (Jared) Maier and their two boys, Lawson James and Brock; Tyler James (Jenna) and their son, Vincent James; Hayley (Blake) Lindsey and their daughter, Elsie James; Shelby Cramer (Dustin Bolt) and Jim's sister, Lyn (Gregg) Coenen.  He is further survived by his much-loved in-laws Steve and Bev Ballweg, Steve and Cindy Mack, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved in-laws Andy and Gerry Ballweg and a special grandmother, Elsie Cramer.

As per Jim's wishes, no services will be held.

"I'll always remember you young".
