Jason Terry Ramaker, 38, Prairie du Sac, WI, died on Monday, April 4, 2011 at home with his family.

To celebrate Jason's life, friends may call from 12:00 Noon until 3 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2011 at the River Arts Center, 105 9th Street in Prairie du Sac, WI. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. at the River Arts Center. A private burial will be at Garden Bluff cemetery on Saturday, April 9, 2011.

Jason was born on June 27, 1972, in Madison, WI, son of Terry & Sandy (Nodorft) Ramaker. Jason graduated from Sauk Prairie High School in 1990. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville majoring in Environmental Reclamation. While attending college, Jason met the one with whom he would share his life, Sherri Oglesby. They were married on October 31, 1998, in Cuba City, WI.



Jason was passionate about nature and the outdoors and successfully aligned his professional goals with his personal passions. Jason managed over 50 wetland restoration projects encompassing thousands of acres. He was instrumental in restoring and enhancing wetlands in Columbia, Marquette, and Green Lake Counties. Jason was a key member of the Walker Restoration, Wisconsin's first private wetland mitigation bank. Jason took tremendous pride in these professional accomplishments and in their enduring legacy.



Jason then joined the family engineering firm, Ramaker & Associates, as a Construction Manager. He contributed to the success of a myriad of projects including building roads, establishing wetlands and oversaw the construction of waterparks throughout the Midwest.



Jason enjoyed fishing, canoeing and collecting native wildflower seeds. He loved spending time with family and friends and watching his children participate in swim, dance, soccer and karate. He enjoyed a good game of euchre where one could glimpse his competitive spirit. His gentle, humble and accepting nature endeared him to all.



Left to forever cherish his memory are Jason's wife, Sherri (Oglesby) Ramaker and their beloved children, Jackson and Annalise; his parents, Terry & Sandy Ramaker; his sister, Amy & Tim Pace and their children, Marissa and Austin; his brother, Scott & Julie Ramaker and their children, Stewart and Tyler, all of the Sauk Prairie area; his maternal grandmother, Shirley Nodorft-Ward of Platteville, WI; his paternal grandmother, Lorraine Ramaker of Prairie du Sac, WI; his mother and father-in-law, Jim & Nancy Oglesby of Cuba City, WI and many other family and friends.

Jason was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William Nodorft; his paternal grandfather, Harold Ramaker; and his step-grandfather, Clare Ward.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Jason Terry Ramaker Memorial Fund at the Bank of Prairie du Sac, 555 Park Avenue, Prairie du Sac, WI 53578.
