Paul recovered fine and Jeanne lived a fairly normal life after many months of therapy.  On March 22, 1955, she gave birth to their son Peter John Swets.  In 1958, after a long struggle, Wallace passed away from the effects of polio.

Don and Jeanne lived on the family farm until Don passed away in 2019 from the effects of dementia.  Jeanne's family moved her to Prairie du Sac, WI, where she lived out her life.

Jeanne loved her flower gardens, knitting, teaching bible study, her cat (Jett) and spending time with family and friends.  She was a Christian, dedicated mother, mentor, and special lady to many.
