IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jeanne R
Stuckey
July 17, 1926 – January 5, 2025
On Sunday, January 5, 2025, Jeanne Rosanne Stuckey (Kane), 98 years old, peacefully passed away in her sleep at St. Camillus in Wauwatosa, WI. Jeanne was born on July 17, 1926, in Prairie du Chien, WI to Cornelius (Neil) and Pearl (Canty) Kane. She was the second of five children who lived happily on a farm in Seneca, WI. Her parents were faithful Catholics and had a deep love for their family; she learned very young how important it was to have supportive parents and siblings. Jeanne started to work on the farm at a young age, and through the hard work and the love of her family, she grew to be an incredible woman with an unwavering love for her family and devotion to God. Her most cherished possession was a collection of the Blessed Mother statues.
Jeanne studied to become a Home Economics teacher at UW-Stout and received her first teaching position in Seneca, WI. During her first years of teaching, she was given the opportunity to not only teach her sisters how to become lovely young women, but she also had them in her class, a memory Jeanne cherished. Jeanne's favorite part of teaching was working with young students and seeing them improve their skills. After teaching in Seneca, she also taught in Cashton and Sauk Prairie. When Sauk City established the Housing Authority in 1973, she became director and continued that role until she retired in 1985.
While at a dance in 1946, Jeanne met the man who would complement her life in every way. Attracted to his good looks, great dancing, and happy nature, Jeanne married LaVerne (Al) Stuckey at St. Patrick's Church in Seneca, WI on August 16, 1949. They had a beautiful ceremony and their friends and family helped to celebrate their union at a reception on the family farm where Jeanne and Al danced their first married dance to "On This Day O Beautiful Mother." As a married couple, Jeanne and Al loved to dance together, play cards, and attend sporting events: their honeymoon was spent in Green Bay, WI watching the Green Bay Packers practice.
Together Jeanne and Al would build a happy life and provide a welcoming home to four incredible children: Philip, Patrick, Mary Johanna, and Anne. Raising four honest, authentic, and successful children brought Jeanne immense joy and stood as one of her proudest accomplishments, all while she maintained an active and cherished role in their lives. One of her happiest memories was the 90th birthday party her children hosted for her at the Guarnieri family farm; her entire family attended and she was overjoyed by the love and genuine appreciation everyone felt.
Jeanne is survived by her four children: Philip (Anne) Stuckey, Patrick (Mary Ann) Stuckey, Mary Jo (Mike) Feller, and Anne (Daniel) Guarnieri; her eight grandchildren: Alison (Joseph) Rappa, Mark Stuckey, Steven (Erin) Stuckey, Susan Saric, Karen (Jeremy) Cassel, Daniel Guarnieri, Erin Guarnieri, and Brian Guarnieri; and eight great-grandchildren: Madie, Josh, Jack, Sophia (Rappa), Lisa and Kaylie (Saric), Haley and Ben (Stuckey).
Jeanne's family would like to thank the staff at St. Camillus for caring for her in the final years of her life.
Jeanne's mass and memorial will be held at San Camilo Chapel at St. Camillus located at 10200 Bluemound Road, Wauwatosa, WI. There will be a visitation on Monday January 27th, starting at 1:00 p.m. and at 2:00 p.m., there will be a Mass of Christian Burial.
