Jerold John Matz, age 82 passed away on Wednesday October 15, 2025 peacefully at home with his family by his side.  He was born on Feb 5,1943 in Baraboo, WI the son of Victor and Denoris (Mellentine) Matz.  He attended Prairie du Sac High School and graduated in 1961

Jerry was a US Veteran having served in the Army.  He was employed by Lake Wisconsin Country Club as a greens keeper until he could no longer work.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and mowing the greens at the Country Club.  He also had a great love of music and cars, and always had a pet by his side.

Jerry is survived by his wife Mary; daughters Lori (Carl) Shimniok and Lisa (Corey) Schlender; his grandchildren, Emily (Shane) Evans and Anna (Zave) Quinlan; great grandchild, Wesley Evans and a brother, Terry (Phyllis) Matz. He is also survived by longtime friend, James Tabor.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private funeral service will be held.  Burial will be in Saint John's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Dane.
