Jerry C. Booth, age 79, passed away at his home on Wed. June 29, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born at home in Arena on May 9, 1937 to the late G. Rex and Marie A. (Schlough) Booth. Following high school, Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1954, proudly serving until 1961. He worked as an Ironworker for over 35 years with the Local 383, Madison. He married Sharon Frosch on Oct. 27, 1962. She preceded him in death on July 17, 1978; together they had 5 children.
Jerry was named as the Mazomanie Township Citizen of the Year 2015 for helping secure the funding for the Wisconsin River Boat Landing on Hwy Y. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who knew the river like the back of his hand; he was the "King of the River Rats". Jerry was a member of the Southern Lake Wisconsin Boat Club, Sauk Prairie Bow Hunters Club, and the Wisconsin Rivers Sportsman's Club.
He is survived by his 5 children, Dan (Jeanne) Booth, Mike Booth, Jerry Jr. (Roberta) Booth, Carrie Ann (August) Danz, and Bradley Allen (Danielle) Booth; 7 grandchildren, Chandra, Jesse, Karli, Craig, Melissa, Tyler, and Sharon; 6 great-grandchildren, Bella, Mason, Jake, Brooklyn, Emma, and Farrah; 3 siblings, JoAnn (Robert) Eckstein, Karen (Linus Bong) Booth, and Jane Booth; a sister in-law, Judy Booth. He is further survived by other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles.
As per Jerry's wishes a Celebration of his Life will be held starting at 1:00 pm on Sun. July 10, 2016 at the Wisconsin River Sportman's Club, 10041 Cty. Hwy. Y, Mazomanie.
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
