Jewell Cox Huerth, age 60, died on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at HospiceCare, Inc. in Madison. She was born in Manchester, KY on August 21, 1948, the daughter of Roy and Nancy (Benge) Cox. She was united in marriage to Robert G. Huerth on September 12, 1998. Jewell was employed as a nurse for 32 years, serving in the U.S. Army as a nurse, and then for 20 years at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, until retiring in August 2008. She enjoyed life, nursing, fishing and baking, and was a patriotic and religious person. She is survived by her husband, Robert of Lodi; two sons, Kenric (Maria) Gibbs of Madison and Kevin Gibbs of San Diego, CA; two step-sons, Andrew (Sara) Huerth of Green Lake and Jonathon Huerth of Prairie du Sac; a granddaughter, Melanie Gibbs, her mother, Nancy Cox of Manchester, KY; two brothers, Roy and Squire of Kentucky; four sisters, Inez, Della Mae, Goldie and Bernice, all of Kentucky, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, and her first husband, Melvin Gibbs. Funeral services will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, 251 Water St., Sauk City, at 11:00 a.m.Saturday, December 20, 2008 with Pastor Dwight Pulsfus officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Manchester, KY.
