She was preceded in death by her sons Joseph (Infant) and Randal; parents; sister, Alice Trapp; and brothers-in-law Victor Ballweg and David Grady.
Joan was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2014 and Breast Cancer in the fall of 2020. Through all of this, she showed strength, perseverance, kindness, and thoughtfulness of others, never wanting to be a burden. Joan's family would like to thank all those that provided her care during the final years, Teri and the Right at Home staff, Dr. Maribeth Baker, Dr. Huen, Dr. Dean, the staff at Sauk Prairie Healthcare and Father James Kotch for his many visits.

Mom/Grandma-your commitment, compassion and selflessness will never be forgotten. You gave of yourself to make amazing memories and to be our teacher of faith and more. We will never forget the hours you spent helping us with 4-H projects, the summer traditions of picking strawberries, making freezer corn, canning tomato soup and salsa, homemade waffles with strawberry topping, the Christmas Yule Log and pistachio dessert, and the care for your grandkids and their imaginations with "The Palace" and on outside on the farm. You created and entrusted to us an amazing family that you will continue to live through.
