John served in the US Army from 1956-1958, stationed in Korea. He was employed with Wisconsin Power & Light for 34 years. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Pat, loving daughter, Kristy Litscher and his pride and joy, grandchildren, Kiana and Ross Litscher. He is further survived by sisters, Marion (Sister Cecile) and Joan Boehmer; brothers Paul (Sally) and Robert Boehmer; brother in law, Bill Rimmey; special son in law, Tom Litscher, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Shirley Paepke and Donna Rimmey; sisters in law Nerita and Judy Boehmer; brother in law, Herman Paepke and nieces Shelley Paepke and Jackie Rimmey.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the First United Church of Christ, 504 Washington Ave., Sauk City. A visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow the service at the Sauk City Cemetery followed by a luncheon served at the church.
