John W. Clement, age 78, died on Friday, July 16, 2010 at St. Joseph Hospital in Hillsboro. He was born in Baraboo on June 22, 1932, the son of the late Elmer and Chloe (Holloway) Clement. John was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Eileen Jones on September 17, 1955. He was employed as a buttermaker by Wisconsin Dairies for 39 years, retiring in 1994. John was an accomplished musician and loved bluegrass and gospel music. He was an avid runner and competed in many marathons.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen of Elroy; a son, Richard (Pam) Clement of Garland, TX; 2 daughters, Linda (Bill) Fitch of Hillsboro and Kathleen (Don Holderfield) Bader of Oconomowoc; 5 grandchildren, Erica, Travis, Josh, Jacob and Elizabeth; a sister, Agnes Dahl of Middleton; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Dale Lynn Bader and Twyla Leah Fitch; and 3 brothers, Floyd, Craig, and Richard Clement.
Funeral services will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Mazomanie, at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2010. Burial will follow in the Arena Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
