John M. "Jack" Lind, age 64, died on Sunday, February 1, 2009 at his home in rural Plain. He was born in Iowa County on November 1, 1944, the son of the late Marcus H. and Della (Laufenberg) Lind. Jack was employed by Verizon Telephone Company for thirty-seven years. He loved his log home with it's beautiful setting and enjoyed hunting with his nephews. He is survived by two sisters, Kay (Gordon) Culver of Prairie du Sac and Donna Nichols of The Villages, FL; seven nieces and nephews, Bruce (Nancy) Culver, Debbie (Bob) Ferguson, Jolene (Leon) Herbrand, Brian Culver, Mark (Paula) Lindquist, Chris (Maria) Lindquist and Brett (Jennifer) Lindquist. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant twin sister, Jolene. Funeral services will be held at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 Oak, Prairie du Sac,WI , at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2009 with Pastor Sally Mitchell officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. in St. Phillips Cemetery, Highland. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
