John Charles Nelson III, age 53, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at his home in Merrimac of natural causes. He was born Feb. 21, 1962 to the late John C. and Nancy A. (Ball) Nelson Jr. John married Cheryl Ann Schneiderwind on Nov. 19, 1981. John was formerly employed at Oscar Mayer, Chiquita Foods, J&L Truckstop in Portage, Lanter Courier Service, and he operated his own carpet cleaning and painting service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, ham radio, and working on cars with his friends.
John is survived by his wife Cheryl; 2 children, Jessi (James) Fettiplace of Madison, John Nelson of Baraboo; 7 grandchildren, Callum, Faith, Chloe, Olivia, Mackenzie, Wyatt and Jossie; 2 sisters, Susan O'Rourke of Madison and Deby (Mike) Nelson of Leith, N.D; a nephew, Matthew O'Rourke of Chicago, Ill; he is further survived by other relatives and friends.
A private celebration of John's life will be held.
