Joseph "Joe" Robert Boettcher, age 42, passed away at home unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 16, 2015. He was born at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital on October 28, 1972 to Jerry and Mary (Gorman) Boettcher. Joe graduated from Sauk Prairie High School, Class of 1991. Joe married Heidi E. Piotrzkowski on August 22, 2014. He worked as an installer for Grace Company, a concrete chemical company, and most recently as an energy auditor and installer for Central Wisconsin Community Action Council. Joe enjoyed hunting, shooting trap, cheering the Packers and Brewers, and watching NASCAR. He was a member of the Leland Rod and Gun Club and former board member. Joe was especially proud of his son, Gunner, and enjoyed spending time with his step-daughter Alexia.
He is survived by his wife, Heidi; son, Gunner; step-daughter, Alexia; parents, Jerry and Mary of Blackhawk; brother, Allen (Justina Johnson) Boettcher of Bear Valley; niece, Hailee and nephew, Nicolas; his in-laws, Winston (Kathryn) Piotrzkowski of Sun Prairie and brother-in-law, Andrew Piotrzkowski. Joe is further survived by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Verlyn and Hazel Boettcher and Clarence and Margaret Gorman.
A memorial service will be held at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 24, 2015. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm, and also on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service. A memorial fund will be established for Joe's son, Gunner.
