Joseph "Joe" Earl Baker, age 83, of Prairie du Sac passed away on Monday Feb., 24, 2025.  He was born in Dodge Center, MN to the late Arthur and Ethel Baker.  He was united in marriage to Nina McDermott in June of 1974; she preceded him in death on Aug. 26, 2010.

Joe worked for Jimmy's Del Bar, Walmart and lastly at Seats Inc. in Reedsburg where he worked as a machinist retiring after 13 years.  Joe enjoyed music, reading, riding his bicycle and loved watching  movies. He like watching the eagles at the VFW. He regularly enjoyed his mornings at Eagle Inn in Prairie du Sac and looked forward to when he could deliver Meals on Wheels to locals in the community.

He is survived by his son, Patrick (Joanne) McDermott; grandchildren, Ally (Karl) Schauer and their son, Roman; Jacob (Whitney) Bambrough and their son, Abel; and a sister, Ethel Hodges.  He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and many close friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Arthur, Edward, Mary, Jeanne and many close friends and relatives.

Joe's family wishes to thank you to the nurses and caregivers of Bristol Hospice for their excellent care of Joe.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City on Friday, March 7, 2025.
