Joseph "Joe" P. Batz, age 59, passed away unexpectedly at the Sauk Prairie Hospital on Friday, May 3, 2024. Joe was born in Madison on Oct. 11, 1964 to Lawrence "Larry" and Terese (Bruss) Batz.

He was a graduate of Wisconsin Heights High School; class of 1983. From a young age, Joe learned the meaning of hard work on the family dairy farm alongside his dad, Larry. He learned the skills that were necessary to make things work and to build the things needed on the farm. These skills eventually came in handy as he was recently employed with Frey Construction and Home Improvements for the last several years. Prior to construction work, Joe worked for the United and Consumers Cooperative in their Feed and Agronomy Departments, and laid concrete for Olson Toon and Mega Concrete. Joe enjoyed the outdoors, deer hunting with Eli, Western movies and frequent road trips to Rock Springs to get spring water.

Joe is survived by his two sons, Hayden and Eli; his mother, Terese; siblings, Laurie (Donald) Powers, Linda (Greg Kaioula) Lawler, Steve Batz and Mandy (Chad) Peterson. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his son, Tanner, and his father, Larry.

A Funeral Service for Joe will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Midland United Methodist Church, 10235 County Hwy KP, Mazomanie. A visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 9:00 am. Interment will be held in St. Barnabas Cemetery, Mazomanie.
