Judith Ann "Judi" Baetz, age 59, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital, following a short battle with cancer. She was born in Hartford, WI on August 9, 1949, the daughter of Melvin and Dolores (Meyer) Hackbarth. She was united in marriage to John Baetz on August 9, 1969. The couple has lived in the Sauk Prairie area since 1979. Prior to that, she had been a kindergarten teacher in Theresa, WI. Judi was active in Christian and community organizations in the Sauk Prairie area and was a speaker and writer for Stonecroft Ministries. She is survived by her husband John; 3 children, Jenna (Shannon) McCann of Prairie du Sac; James (Jessica) Baetz of Indianapolis, and B.J. (Satoko) Baetz of Madison; 3 grandson, Jeran, Sedric and Julian; a soon-to-be granddaughter, Lily; her mother, Delores; a brother, Dale (fiancee Kate) Hackbarth; 2 sisters, Darlene (Tim) Kent and Diane (John) Morofske; 2 brothers-in-law, Mike Cornelius and Robert (Kay) Baetz; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, and a sister, Sharon Cornelius.
A Memorial Service will be held at SAUK PRAIRIE EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH, Prairie du Sac, at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 with Pastor Timothy Pietrogallo officiating. Friends may call at the church from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
