Judith "Judy" Byars Roll, age 68, passed away at University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, on Fri. Feb. 5, 2016 surrounded by love and her family. She was born in Carbondale, IL on Nov. 4, 1947 to the late Alva and Freeda (Higgs) Byars. Judy graduated from Westmont Hilltop High School in Johnston, PA., class of 1965. Following High School, she attended Northeastern University in Boston where she obtained her Nursing Degree. Judy's family was her top priority along with entertaining and spending time with her granddaughter, "Bella, Bella". She enjoyed her home on Lake Wisconsin, world travel, cooking, gardening, arts and crafts, and cheering on Ohio State and Green Bay Packer Football.

Judy is survived by her children, Jessica Roll (Chris) Spitzer and their daughter, Isabella, Barbara Ann (Tim) Layman and their children, Lindsay, Marc and Nick, Patsy (Forrest) Cress and their children, Brandon, Suzanne Matthews, Catie and Laura Cress; daughter in-law, Bonnie Roll and her children, Annie and Elizabeth; 5 sisters, Debra Jean (Fred Teitgen) Byars, Beverly Joan Byars, Joyce (Steve) Prior, Janet Byars, Jacqueline (Mike) Nelson; Judy is further survived by a nephew, Jay Meers, and nieces, Lindsay Nelson and Brooke Nelson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Dr. William Roll, a son Stephen Roll, and a nephew, Justin "Scotty" Meers.

As per Judy's wishes, a private celebration of her life will be held.
Judy's family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to their family and friends for all their help and the University Hospital Medical Staff.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to an Organ Donor Organization of choice.
