Karl Froese, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. He was born in Germany on August 16, 1924, the son of the late Frederick and Justine Froese. He was united in marriage to Josephine Huber on October 20, 1946 in Germany. Together they moved to the United States in 1951. Karl was employed by Kraemer Brothers for twenty-five years as a bricklayer, and later by the Sauk City Village Street Department, before retiring in 1986. He enjoyed his retirement by playing cards and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Josephine "Josie" of Sauk City; four children, Leo (Karen) Froese of Prairie du Sac, Henry (Judy) Froese of Prairie du Sac, Rollie (Shelia) Froese of Sauk City, and Debby (Tom) Mahoney of Sauk City; seven grandchildren, Brad Froese, Stacy Evert, Brian (Shana) Froese, Corey (Ellie) Froese, Michelle Mahoney, Crystal (Shawn) Fahrenkampf, and Thomas Mahoney; and nine great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Sauk City, at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 27, 2009 with Fr. Faustino Ruiz officiating. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Friends may call at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. on Monday.
