Kathleen "Katie" Pearl Barsness, age 87, of Mazomanie, stepped into the arms of her Savior Jesus, early on the morning of June 9th, 2024.  Katie was born in Mazomanie on December 28, 1936, to John and Pearl Parman. She was the second to the youngest of 11 children.

Katie attended Mazomanie High School where she met the love of her life, Dale Barsness.  They married soon after graduation, on July 16, 1954, and would have celebrated their 70th anniversary this year.  Katie and Dale had three sons, Tim (Diane) Barsness, Todd (Becki) Barsness and Trent (Kathy) Barsness, all of Mazomanie. They also have 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. Katie was referred to affectionately as Gammee not only by her own grandchildren, but also by many others.

She was known for her generous hospitality and open heart. Katie loved her Savior Jesus and knew without doubt that she would spend eternity with Him in heaven, as she told many doctors and nurses during her last few days.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, June 14th at Curtiss Street Bible Fellowship.  A light lunch will be served following the service.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Susan G. Komen foundation.
