Kathleen "Kay" Marie Schumacher, age 87, passed away at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg.  She was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island in 1932 to the late Edmund and Eleanor Tomlinson. After graduating from high school, Kay married Ernest "Ernie" Schumacher in 1950. Kay was a devoted military wife during most of her husband's 30-year Navy career. She raised four children and moves to various stateside and overseas posts. Together they lived in Richland Center, later settling in rural Lodi. Ernie and Kay spent many years work together on family genealogies. He preceded her in death on May 30, 2012.

She is survived by her children, David Schumacher, Linda Bernstein, and Cathleen Hoganson; son-in-law Mark Bernstein; grandsons, Scott Berkebile, Mark Berkebile, Alex Hoganson, John Hoganson; great granddaughters, Zoe, Elena, and Cora; her brother, David Tomlinson; and sister-in-law Susan.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ernie, Kathleen was preceded in death by her eldest son, Willi Schumacher on December 6, 2017.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Sept. 10, 2019 at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City.  A brief prayer service will be held at 6:00 pm by Fr. Miguel Galvez.

Kathleen's family wishes to thank her wonderful neighbors, who were her adopted family:  Ed & Pat Tuttle, Greg & Sue Heintz, Kathy Bockhop, Stephanie Zeman, Patti, Elizabeth, and Jessica Keichinger, Justin & Mandy, Cora & Hattie Warner, and Justin & Jenna, Justin & Jenna Higgins.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Kathleen's name  to any Military Veterans Assoction.
