Kathryn Vivian Schwartz, age 80, passed away on Thur. Feb. 25, 2016. She was born in Spring Green on Apr. 29, 1935 to the late Herbert and Norma (Phetteplace) Pletzer. Kathryn married Walter Schwartz; they celebrated 59 years together, before Walter preceded her in death on May 17, 2012.
They raised four children, Christine Sprecher, Jeffrey (Sharon) A. Schwartz, Steven E. (Laurie) Schwartz, and Nancy S. (Ray Henning) Schwartz; she is further survived by 17 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; a brother, Herbert (Audrey) Pletzer; and sister, Karen (Bernard) Fowler.
In addition to her parents and husband, Kathryn was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy; twin sister, Margaret (Paul) White; a brother, John Pletzer; grandson, Steven Joseph Schwartz; and a great grandson, Tyson Enerson.
Kathryn enjoyed music, sewing, cooking and baking. She shared her goodies with neighbors, friends and family. Kathryn was an eternal optimist, was hardworking, and a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Sauk City.
She will be missed by many, with her beautiful smile and caring ways to all. When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.
Kathryn's family would like to thank Our House in Baraboo, Agrace Hospice, St. Clare Hospital for the wonderful care they gave Kathryn. We are greatly appreciative.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am on Thurs. Mar. 3, 2016 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 115 Madison St., Sauk City. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:15 am at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City, WI. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
