Kathy (Ray) Metcalf, age 60, of Prairie du Sac passed away Feb 19, 2024. Kathy was born on July 18,1963 to Phil and Judy Ray of Prairie du Sac. She spent most of her childhood in Muskego, WI on Little Muskego Lake, before marrying her childhood sweetheart Raymond Metcalf and moving to the town of Muskego. After an amiable split, she later joined Dan Maciosek on a mini farmette where they had two children and spent several years together.

Kathy, aka, "Kat" lived her life as a free spirit and now truly is a Free Spirit. Kat always had a hug for anyone who wanted one (and even some that didn't). If you asked her what her biggest accomplishment was in life, she would say her two "beautiful babies". She loved her family with a fiery passion, which makes sense because she was a pyromaniac who loved her campfires all year long, no matter how hot or cold outside. She always knew that she would someday go out with a bang! So, a part of her ashes will be put into some BLUE fireworks and blown over the river.

Kat and her dog, Maizzie, loved to walk down by the river and they met many friends down there. She truly never met a stranger. She loved to read books (2-3 per week) and anytime she came upon a word that she did not recognize; she would pause and look it up and then shared her new word with others. She loved animals just as much as she loved nature. Her home was always a "zoo" full of noise, music, animals and neighborhood kids. So, you be a clown for her; it is okay to be sad but then turn that frown upside down. She is now part of the sun and the rain, the moon and stars.

Kathy is survived by her parents Phil and Judy Ray of Prairie du Sac, her children Travis Maciosek and Kaci (Casey Riley) Maciosek, her brother Ken (Kate) Ray, and their two children Peter and Sarah Ray. She is further survived by cousins: Scott (Kathy) Oliver, Mike (LaRissa) Oliver, David (Stacy) Oliver, Jeff (Sheri) Oliver, Beth Edwards and Heather (Adam) Ross. Aunts and Uncles: Jack (Monnie) Oliver, Margie Oliver,

Sally (Ray) Woller and Judy (Larry) Ray and the father of her children Dan (Nancy) Maciosek, and long-time friends of the family; Courtney Hart and family and Timothy Ganser.

Kathy was preceded in death by her lovable aunt, Jill Oliver, her niece, Jill (Sissy) Oliver, her uncle, Jim Oliver and uncle Larry Ray and ex-husband, Raymond Metcalf

A celebration of life will be held March 2nd at Culver Community Park Concessions Building, 340 21st Street, Prairie du Sac from 12:30 until 2:30, with food and refreshments. Impromptu speakers not only welcomed but encouraged.
