Obituary

Kay J. Beres (87) peacefully passed surrounded by family into eternal life and joined her beloved husband Robert, on Thursday, May 15th, 2025.  Kay was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.  She was born on October 16, 1937, in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Harold (Tubby) Kinyon and Gertrude (Gauss) Kinyon.

Kay was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) L. Beres on September 15, 1962, at St. Joe's Parish in Racine. Throughout their marriage, Kay and Bob lived in Racine, WI, Knoxville, TN, McHenry, IL, and Verona, WI. They finally found their dream home on Lake Wisconsin, Merrimac WI, where Kay watched the hummingbirds, and eagles fly.

Many friends, coworkers, and family members remember Kay enjoyed hosting parties and family gatherings. After she retired from Accurate Business Solutions, Kay enjoyed feeding the birds and keeping up with her boys and grandkids. Kay loved to travel with friends and attend Red Wing conventions in Red Wing, MN. She volunteered at local food pantries and at the polls on important voting dates. We will miss mom's laughter, her silly family antics, and her love of Werther's Original Candies.

Kay is preceded in death by her husband Robert (Bob) L. Beres on October 13, 2023, and her brother Harold ("Uncle Bud") G. Kinyon on April 22, 2003.

She is survived by her two devoted sons, Mark (Vicki) Beres and Steven (Michelle "Shelly") Beres; grandchildren, Melisa (Jason) Gronlund, Anthony Beres (Brooke Brehm), Gavyn Beres, Hannah, Klara, and Holly Hokenson; and great grandson, Jayce Gronlund.

Mom believed her heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ, was waiting for her with open arms.  She asked that we gather privately with the immediate family to lay her to rest with Bob at Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Kay's family would like to thank all of the SSM Home Health Staff for their care and dedication. She appreciated the family and friends who came to visit in her final days.

Mom, we will miss your never-ending happiness, laughter, smiles, and your final message, "be good to one another!"
