Obituary

Kenneth Joseph Brickl, age 79 of Sauk City, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on August 9, 1938 to the late Al and Evelyn (Fingerhut) Brickl. He enlisted in the United States Army and served in Korea. Upon return to the states, he met his future wife, Tenchie Martinez while stationed in Alamogordo, NM. They were united in marriage on October 7, 1958. Together they raised eight children, Jeff (Kathy), Laura Powers (Rick), Philip (DeeDee), Sandra Sliter (Tom), Karen Meng (Denny), Bryan, Jennifer Uselman (Kevin), and Alicia Bolton (Terry). After retiring from Kraemer Brothers, he enjoyed working at the Sauk City Taxi Company where he made many new friends. He spent years as a camp host at White Mound where he was known for his elaborate campsite and love of "shooting the bull." He had a great love of family and nature.

In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by 14 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; siblings, Pat Beck, Gary, Mary Lynn Fahrni, Dean, and Kathy Meise. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Paul.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017 at St. Aloysius Parish, 115 Madison St., Sauk City, with Father Miguel Galvez presiding. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday Aug. 22, 2017 at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., in Sauk City and the morning of the mass from 10:00 am until 10:45 am at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Association.

Ken's family is especially grateful for Home Health United Hospice and special friend and caregiver Darla Quinn.
