Kimberly "Kim" Kay Burkee, age 54, passed away on Tues. May 30, 2017 at University Hospital in Madison after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital on Jul. 30, 1962 to the late Les and Dorothy (Werla) Reuter. Kim graduated from Sauk Prairie High School in 1980. She married Phil Bongard in Nov. 1980 and together they had two children, Trina and Tyler. Kim worked in sales and marketing for Mueller Sports Medicine in Prairie du Sac for over 25 years, a career she thoroughly enjoyed. She was united in marriage to Scott Burkee on Aug. 9, 1993. Kim enjoyed Devils Lake and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing basketball; and cheering on her favorite Wisconsin teams, the Packers, Badgers, and Brewers.
Kim is survived by her husband, Scott; 2 children, Trina (Ray) Parman, and Tyler (Shawna) Bongard; 3 grandsons, Blake Parman, Easton and Corbin Bongard; siblings, Cindy Reuter, Gary Reuter, Randy (Julie) Reuter, Tammie (Alan) Huerth; many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Larry.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Mon. June 5, 2017 at First United Church of Chirst, 504 Washington Ave., Sauk City. A visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of service. Interment will follow in the Sauk City Cemetery.
