Laurlin Marie Jacobs, age 73, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, at home with her family by her side. She was born on April 9, 1953, in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ivan Sr. and Mary (Zielinski) Wartzok.

Laurlin developed a love for horses at a young age after being gifted a pony. That passion continued into her pre-teen years, when she owned two horses and especially enjoyed riding her beloved horse, Grey River. She also cherished the companionship of her border collie, Luke. Laurlin graduated from Sauk Prairie High School in 1971 and, following graduation, enlisted in the United States Army. She served in Germany and many years at home before being honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant.

She then met the love of her life, Michael Jacobs Sr. They were married on August 23, 1980, and shared over 46 years of marriage together. They were blessed with two children, Mike Jacobs Jr. (Morgan) and Kari Reuland (Travis). Laurlin’s greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren: Michael, Morgan, Cameron, Keegan, Charli, and Hailey, who brought her immense pride and happiness.

She is further survived by her brothers, James Wartzok, Rodney Wartzok, and Ronald (Sandy) Wartzok; her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Dan (Anna) Jacobs, Dawn Jacobs, Kathy Jacobs, and Gary (Amanda) Jacobs; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Laurlin was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan Sr. and Mary Wartzok; her in-laws, Hurley and Marion Jacobs; her brother, Ivan Jr. Wartzok (Ellen); and her brother-in-law, Jeff Jacobs. She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and General Hospital, spending time sunbathing, fishing, and going to the cabin. She had a fondness for old western movies and treasured every moment spent with her husband, children and grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lisa Bair, Monica Righter, and the VA Hospital for the exceptional care, compassion, and support they provided to Laurlin over the years.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water Street, Sauk City, Wisconsin, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with services to follow. A military burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Prairie du Sac Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to join for dinner and refreshments at 4:00 p.m. at the Prairie du Sac VFW.
