LaVern Gieck, age 94, passed away March 29 after a brief illness.  Lavern was born at home in Denzer, Wi to George and Elsa(Malone) Gieck.

LaVern started his career as a milk hauler, then worked 31 years for Twin City Forms as a union carpenter.

He married Alice(Wirth)  April 7, 1956 and they would have celebrated 66 years together this year.

LaVern is survived by wife Alice, children Ron(Theresa) Gieck of Tellico Plains, TN, Don(Carol) Gieck of North Freedom, WI.  daughter Carol Gieck of Leland, Wi and stepdaughter Cindy of TN.  Also survived by brothers Fred and Russell and brother-in-law Richard Bruckert.  He was preceded in death by daughter Connie Perkins and stepdaughter Chris Elliott, brothers George, Clarence, sisters Augusta, Martha, and Irene.  Further survived by 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date.  The family wishes to Thank the Plain EMS, Sauk Prairie Healthcare- doctors, nurses and staff, Maplewood staff and Agrace Hospice.
