Obituary

LaVern "Bud" J. Ederer, age 94, of Sauk City, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 6, 2025, at his residence. He was born on October 10, 1931, the son of the late Herbert and Lucy (Haas) Ederer. Bud was united in marriage to Caroline Schwartz on October 15, 1953, at St. Norbert's Church, Roxbury.

Bud was a milk hauler, starting his career at 18 years old, first transporting milk cans and later bulk milk hauling for REM, a career of over 40 years. He later drove for Fuchs Trucking and Peterson Auto parts. He enjoyed driving, Polka dancing, drinking a beer in the afternoon or a good old fashioned, he enjoyed having fun and had a gift of being able to talk with anyone. He liked spending his time keeping a nice yard and enjoyed mowing his lawn. Most mornings Bud could be found enjoying his coffee, reading the paper and visiting at his daily trip to Dunkin Donuts.

He is survived by his wife, Caroline; children, Dave (Judy) Ederer, Dale (Cathy) Ederer and Judie (Don) Decato; grandchildren, Jeff Ederer, Katie (Andrew) Cook, Dan (Asia) Decato and Nina Decato; step-grandchildren, Randi (David) Ahrndt, Cori (Ryan) Cirka and Jaime (Hayden Shelley) Miller; great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Sage Cook; step-great-grandchildren, Dawson, Dennen and Daren Ahrndt, Gavin and Owen Cirka; sisters-in-law, Arlene Williams, Ella Akins, Dorothy (Clarence) Mougin and Charlotte Schwartz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, Andrew and Claudia Schwartz; sisters and brothers-in-law, Harold (Mary Ann) Schwartz, Viola (Harold) Gruber, Lawrence Schwartz, Armella (Stanley) Meffert and Laura (Harold) Endres.

A special thank you to Dr. Johnson, Fr. Miguel Galvez, Megan and Carla and the full Agrace Hospice team for their care and support.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on December 18th at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 115 Madison St., Sauk City.

A Celebration of Bud's Life will follow at the Dorf Haus Roxbury.
