LaVern C. Meyer died on Friday, October 17, 2008. He was the son of Arthur and Elsa (Hanusa) Meyer. He was born on November 11, 1920 near Hillpoint in rural Sauk County, Wisconsin,. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Loganville, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and first wife LaVona (Hilgendorf) Meyer. He is survived by his wife Rozelle, son Neil (Yasuko), daughter Nona, sister Lanette Simonds, and two grandsons Saul and Seth Hedquist. He is also survived by his step-son Steven Lukenbach (Judy), step-daughter Kathryn Lukenbach (Marcie) and step-grandsons Max and Sam Lukenbach. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, at Midvale Community Lutheran Church in Madison. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, at Hooverson Funeral Home in Sauk City.
