Lenore Emma Ryan, age 83, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home, July 2, 2021.  She was born in Madison on Dec. 30, 1937 to the late Gustave and Lavina (Hein) Schmitt.  She attended grade school at St. Michael's in Dane and graduated from Lodi High School; class of 1956.   Lenore was united in marriage to Dale R. Ryan on Aug. 1, 1961 at St. Michaels in Dane.  She worked for the State of Wisconsin, Dept. of Revenue and later retired from the Central Wisconsin Center in 2000.  She and Dale enjoyed traveling and made all the lower 48 states, square dancing, playing euchre, shopping and time spent with her family.  The Catholic faith was important to her and she attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Baraboo.

Lenore is survived by her husband, Dale; her children, Colleen Ryan, Brenda (Bruce) Koeller, Patty (Steve) Ryan-Meyer, Keith (Amy) Ryan; grandchildren, Matt and Maggie Ryan; brothers, Gregory (Gerri) Schmitt and Fr. Kent Schmitt.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Allegra (Llewellyn "Cuggy") Glimme, DelRose (Bernard) Dockendorff, DuWayne (Ellen) Schmitt.

A Funeral Mass will be held for Lenore on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 300 2nd St. Baraboo with Fr. Jay Poster and Fr. Kent Schmitt concelebrating.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Lenore's family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the Agrace Hospice Care Team, especially Kevin and Mary for their excellent care.
