Leon "Butch" E. Kleinert, age 66, passed away 11/2/2021 at his home. He was born in Baraboo, Wi on 1/29/1955, the son of William and Dorothy (Foye) Kleinert. He attended Sauk schools and graduated college from UW Eau Claire. He spent the majority of his working years as an office manager for Lake Wisconsin Country Club and then worked for a few years for Meigs Inc.

Later in life, in 2005, he was united in marriage to Mary Wipperfurth Krueger. Butch had a love for nature and enjoyed going to the cabin in Ojibwa. Even after his stroke Mary made sure that was something they could continue to do together. Prior to his stroke in 2010 he enjoyed hiking and photography with his buddy Steve Meyer. Even after Butch's stroke Steve never gave up on their friendship. He would stop by to visit regularly. Butch loved seeing his latest photos and tales of his latest hiking adventures. He also enjoyed his friendship with lifelong friend Mark Sprecher, a friend whom he's had since childhood. Mark has always stuck by his side. He made sure to call and visit him often with his dog Skipper. They both enjoyed each other's company. He was also an avid golfer and enjoyed many laughs and the camaraderie of his fellow golfer friends.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; step children Marcus (Iris) Krueger, Sara (Trent) Walch, Laura Nagel and friend Bill; grandchildren Hayden (Asia), Jasmine, Mark "DM", Siri, Brody, and Kaylee; special furbabies Buttons and Gracie; sister in law Emily Fuchs; nieces and nephew Michelle Bohannan, Bruce Kleinert, and Rose Kleinert; great niece and nephew Samantha Lester and Austin Riker; in laws Rick (Barb) Wipperfuth, Cheryl (Ray) Eller, Kevin (Jody) Wipperfurth, and Joyce (Todd) Ruhland.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Dorothy, brother Lyle Kleinert, sister Gloria Bohannan, nephew David Kleinert, niece Angela "Angie" Taylor, in laws Robert & Henrietta Wipperfuth, step son in law Michael Nagel, special fur babies Mack and Sassy.
