LeRoy Alois Ganser, age 67, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born in Roxbury on August 7, 1941, to Arthur and Teresa (Werla) Ganser. He was united in marriage to Linda Grenie on May 9, 1959. Their marriage was blessed with seven children. The family farmed outside Sauk City for many years. LeRoy enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Linda Ganser; 7 children, LeRoy (Virginia) Ganser Jr. of Sauk City, Allen (Pam Gard) Ganser of Waunakee, Lydia (Joe DiSalvo) Ganser of Stoughton, Pauline (Joe) Clevenger of Arlington, Christine Bell of Poynette, Tammi (Kenny) Nolden of Rock Springs and Connie (Dan) Holl of Sauk City; 8 grandchildren, Nichole (Andrew) Foesch of Reedsburg, Daniel (Carrie) Cushman of Tooele, UT, Jeremy Niemann and Kalista Niemann of Poynette, Matthew Nolden of Rock Springs, Tim Ganser of Sauk City, and Jared Holl and Brendan Holl of Sauk City; a great-grandson, Gabriel Cushman of Tooele, UT; 5 siblings, Phyllis "Toots" Ganser, Margaret (Bill) Haller, Tommy (Esther) Ganser, Marlene (Don) Ederer, and LuAnn Kraemer; step-mother, Florence Ganser; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tom and Neva Virnig; 2 sisters-in-law, Patty Ganser and Karen Grenie; 2 brothers-in-law, Mike (Mary) Grenie and Bob Meyer; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, many foster children, and others who loved him dearly and called him Dad. He was preceded in death by, his parents, Arthur and Teresa Ganser; 2 grandsons, James Nolden and Jerad Judd; 3 brothers, Norbert (Maxine) Ganser, David (Shirley) Ganser, and Jimmy Ganser; 3 brothers-in-law, Carlton Ganser, Pat Grenie and Ezra Fuller; 2 sisters-in-law, Wanda Fuller and Donna Meyer. Services will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, 251 Water St., Sauk City on Saturday, December 6, 2008. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. , followed by a short service.
