Leslie W. Cramer, age 87, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at home. He was born in Prairie du Sac on September 3, 1923, the son of the late Oscar J. and Caroline (Schneller) Cramer. Les was a graduate of Prairie du Sac High School and a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served from 1942-1946. He was united in marriage to Marlys Dick on June 20, 1946. She preceded him in death on November 25, 2005. Les spent the majority of his working life as owner/operator of the Prairie du Sac Mobile Station. He was an active community member having been involved with the Prairie du Sac Fire Department, Lions Club, Prairie du Sac Village Board, Masonic Lodge and the Ambulance Association. He was a member of Concordia United Methodist Church. A recent highlight in his life was the Badger Honor Flight to Washington, DC.


He is survived by three daughters, Judy John) Hasheider of Sauk City, Joyce (Mike) Wiley of Prairie du Sac and Carrie (Don) Leister of Prairie du Sac; seven grandchildren, Jessica (Ken Kippley), Joshua (Jen) and Justin (Ashley Wirts) Hasheider; Lesley (Tim) Markley and Katie (Nick) O'Donnell; and Bailey and Tanner Leister four great-grandchildren, Morgan, Colby, Libby and Atanna; two brothers, Solomon of West Bend and Calvin (Patricia) of Lodi; a sister-in-law, JoAnn Weatherly of Birmingham, Alabama; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby and Ramona; and a brother, Alan.


A memorial service will be held at CONCORDIA UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, Prairie du Sac, at 11:00 a.m on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 with Pastor Jeff Virchow officiating. Friends may call at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2011.
