Lester Fred Klaetsch, 66, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison. He was born in Baraboo on January 11, 1945, the son of the late Fred and Rosella (Buelow) Klaetsch. He was united in marriage to Janis Sawall on June 8, 1968.
Lester was a lifelong truck driver supporting the dairy and agricultural industries logging over one million miles during 48 years. His interests often took him outdoors hunting and fishing with family or friends, tending his garden or searching and finding ginseng and morels. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching them participate in extra-curricular activities. His patience and generosity will be missed by those who were blessed to have known him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who was always willing to offer a loving helping hand to those in need.
Survivors include his wife, Janis,
a son, George of Madison,
a daughter, Dawn (Tom) Karls of Lodi,
two grandchildren, Jarod and Megan Karls,
a sister, Elaine (Durward) Campbell of Baraboo,
his mother-in-law, Evelyn Chroninger of Sauk City,
a brother-in-law, Gary (Marcella) Sawall of Waunakee,
a sister-in-law, Judy (Jim) Frey of Sauk City,
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 20 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 100 Oak St., Prairie du Sac with Pastor Fred Rilling officiating. Interment will be held later in the Prairie du Sac Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
