Obituary

TROY TOWNSHIP – Loraine L. Ott (Bohnsack) age 88, passed away on October 3, 2021 at Maplewood Nursing Home in Sauk Prairie. She was born in Spring Green on December 26, 1932 to the late Roy and Irene (Sorg) Bohnsack.

Loraine attended Wilson Creek elementary and River Valley High schools. Loraine was united in marriage to Roger on November 1, 1951. They farmed together on farms located in Baraboo, Black Hawk, Lone Rock and then at their current farm in Black Hawk. Loraine enjoyed turkey and deer hunting, and shooting many prized bucks and turkeys. Turkey hunting was her passion where she enjoyed taking her turkeys to be registered at the Ideal Tap in Plain, Wisconsin to show off to the hunters at the bar.

She also enjoyed morel mushroom hunting in the spring, fishing with Roger in their boat as well as their Canada fishing trips. Loraine was well known as one of the "Church Ladies" at the Blackhawk Church, serving many meals. Loraine taught cooking and sewing classes to the 4H Club and was a very talented seamstress.

Loraine is survived by their three children, Ramona Bishton (Victor Ratchman), Loretta (Tom Jellings), and Paul Ott; three grandchildren, Daniel (Alicia) Bishton, Mike Bishton (friend Kayla) and Adam Jellings (fiancé Rachel), and great grandson Carter Bishton, her sisters Eleanor Bohnsack and Joyce Richardson, and sister in law Patsy Hering; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Roger, siblings Darlene Bauer, Victor Bohnsack, and Kenneth Bohnsack; and son in law Timothy Bishton.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Black Hawk. A visitation will be held from 10 AM until time of service. Interment will follow in Church cemetery.
