Loretta M. Feiner, age 87 passed away Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Maplewood Nursing Home. She was born January 28, 1923 in Mendon, Missouri, the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Vater) Koehl. She graduated from Mendon High School in 1941 and came to Madison, WI. to work with her sister at St. Mary's Hospital office. She worked there until her marriage to Raymond Feiner on April 12, 1947. To this marriage, three children were born and the family farmed most of thirty years near Plain, WI. The couple retired to Prairie du Sac in 1976. Loretta worked for nineteen years at Sauk County Farmco/FS and also fifteen years at Cenex in Sauk City retiring in 2001.
Loretta loved to garden, raise flowers and sew and mend for family members. She enjoyed making doll clothes for grandchildren and did many cross stitch pictures. She will be remembered for all the cookies and goodies at Christmas and her good ice tea.
Survivors include three children, Kathleen (Gary) Wehrle, Patrick (Teri) Feiner and Karen (Mark) Tyler, eight grandchildren,
fourteen great-grandchildren,
two sisters, Mercedes Gladbach and Monica Maag,
two brothers, Francis (Marion) Koehl and Gene (Margaret) Koehl,
many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond 56 days ago, three brothers-in-law, a daughter-in-law and a sister, Bernadine Feiner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Sauk City on Tuesday, February 16 at 11:30 AM with Fr. Jared Hood officiating. Burial will be later in St. Luke's Cemetery, Plain. Friends may call from 9:30 AM until 11:15 AM on Tuesday at Hooverson Funeral Home.
