M. Lorraine Sawyer, age 91, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2010 at Pine Villa in Prairie du Sac. She was born on August 10, 1918, in North Bend, Jackson County, the daughter of the late Alfred and Jenny (Lindberg) Anderson. She was united in marriage to Harry Sawyer on August 20, 1938. The couple lived and farmed in Westpoint Township for many years. Lorraine was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church, Prairie du Sac, the Lydia Circle and the quilters group. She was a charter member of the Oakwood Homemakers.

She is survived by four children, Larry (April) Sawyer, Tom (Connie) Sawyer, Marie (Gary) Breunig, and Meredith (David) Turner; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; four siblings, Merlin Anderson, Arlene Malone, Spencer Anderson, and Jerry (Diane) Anderson; a brother-in-law, Donald (Joyce) Sawyer; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Enid and Mary Anderson; many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, on May 23, 2008; one sister and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held at ST. JOHN LUTHERAN CHURCH, Prairie du Sac, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2010, with Pastor Fred Rilling officiating. Burial will be in Garden Bluff Cemetery, Westpoint Township. Friends may call at the church on Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
