Louis E. Barber, age 56, died at home on Thursday, July 8, 2010, surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on May 17, 1954, the son of Eugene and Dorothy (Alexander) Barber. Louie was united in marriage to Vicki on June 21, 2010. He loved the outdoors, hunting, and lending a helping hand to friends and family. He was employed by Michel's Directional Drilling and was a member of Operating Engineers #139.


He is survived by his wife, Vicki; a son, Brandon (Lauren); a daughter, Katie; 2 grandchildren, Talia and Jorge; his mother, Dorothy Barber; his siblings, Diana (John) Hutter, Donna (Steve) DeMars, Marsha (Rodney) Key, and Stanley (Barbara) Barber; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene, and a brother Dennis.


A visitation will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 11, 2010. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
