Lowell "Buzz" J. Holcomb, age 75, passed away on Sat. Jan. 9, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. He was born at home in Mazomanie on Dec. 16, 1940 to the late Garth and Hazel Holcomb. Buzz graduated from Mazomanie High School, class of 1958. Following High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Sanford, FL. He was united in marriage to Constance "Connie" L. DeNoble on Oct. 26, 1963; she preceded him in death on Mar. 27, 2012. Buzz received his Master Plumbers License and worked as a plumber for the Madison Local Union 75 until he retired in 1995. Buzz was proud of the Mazomanie Community and served on the Village Board as a Trustee and served as Village President. Buzz was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Mazomanie American Legion, Lions Club, and was the former Troop Leader for Boy Scout Troop 58. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trains, and looked forward to an annual trip to the EAA in Oshkosh.
He is survived by, four sons, Lowell D.(Jenny) Holcomb, of Milwaukee, Jared (Amy) Holcomb, of Mazomanie, Stefan Holcomb, of Mazomanie, Garth (Michelle) Holcomb, of Mazomanie; 6 grandchildren, Isabelle, Madeline, Jonathon, Andrew, Riley and Aidan; two sisters, Virginia Frederick and Carol Holcomb. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, David; and a brother in-law, Dallas Frederick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Fri. Jan. 15, 2016 at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, Mazomanie. A visitation will be held on Thur. Jan. 14, 2016 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Hwy 14 West, Mazomanie and also the morning of the service from 10:00 am until 10:45 am. Burial will follow in the St. Barnabas Cemetery, Mazomanie.
