When he moved to Sauk City, he continued to enjoy woodworking and began creating unique birdhouses that can still be seen in yards throughout the county and even the world. He proudly served in various positions at the United Church of Christ in Myerstown, PA, and in Sauk City.

Albert is survived by his wife of 71 years, Laura S. Maenche; his son Albert (Darleen) Maenche, Jr. of West Palm Beach, FL. and his daughter Patricia (Carl) Barrett of Prairie du Sac. He will be missed and remembered by his seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
