LuAnn M. Welsch, age 65, of Prairie du Sac passed away peacefully at Meriter Hospital in Madison on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She was born at Sauk Prairie Hospital to LaVerne and Allene (Burdin) Welsch. LuAnn graduated from Sauk Prairie High School class of 1976. She started her career with Schwarz Insurance while in High School and continued for 42 years until her retirement in 2016. LuAnn loved having her great nieces/nephews over to frost cupcakes for the Easter and Christmas Holidays, along with doing other craft projects. The day always ended with a meal from Culvers. She enjoyed crafting, cheering on her nieces and nephews/great nieces and nephews at their sporting events, and she was a Packer and Badger fan. She also enjoyed her trips to the casino and time spent with family, friends, and the love of her life, Vern. She is survived by Vern Berry, siblings, Karen (Paul) Skinner, Diane (Darrell) Endres, Linda (Phil) Breunig, Joann (Rick) Rothmann and Joe (Kara) Welsch; 10 nieces and nephews, Carrie Skinner, Stephanie (Dennis Rehr), Brian (Nicole) Schlough, Ross (Courtney) Endres, Tyler (Kelly) Breunig, Kayla (Travis) Warmka, Ashley (James) Schulenburg, Cory (Amanda) Rothmann and Connor and Rayna Welsch; 13 great nieces and nephews, Jacob Neumann, Braden Schlough, Henry, Amelia, and Leo Endres, Ryder, Tenley and Piper Breunig, Vayda and Bennett Warmka, Addison and Lauren Schulenburg, Harper Rothmann and her Aunt and Godmother Margaret Fuchs; along with life-time friends, Sheryl Loy, Lynee Fuchs, Kathy Schwarz and Cheri Brickl. She is also survived by Vern's children; Nick (Nikki) Berry and their children Mason, Trevor, Taylor and Anicka; Andrew (Kathy) Berry, and their children; Shane Halverson and his children Jaden, Vincent, Journey and Octavia, Corey (Jaleasa) Halverson, Matthew (Kate) Halverson, and Austin Hanson, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her niece, Carla Skinner, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 115 Madison St., Sauk City. Livestreamed at https://youtu.be/TKhgfEFG3EI . A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. She was a great daughter, sister/sister-in-law, aunt/great aunt, and friend. She will always be remembered for her kindness, compassion for others, wisdom, and contagious smile. She had a heart of gold and will be dearly missed by all. Special thanks to Dr. Adams and other healthcare providers for their compassionate care, along with Fr.
